New Option for Wildlife Art Blog

I have just added RSS - Really Simple Syndication - to this blog.  If you look in your computer's address bar, you'll see a blue box that says "RSS"

By clicking this, you can access a page with all my posts, and also check the "Actions" heading in the page's sidebar for subscription options.

Many of you may not need RSS, but I am happy to offer it for my friends who like that service.

A little video for you...

I had a chance to take a kayak trip with Captain Mike - here is a little clip of the trip.

This was taken at the Texas Gulf Coast near Port Aransas.

Memorial Day Weekend

I want to thank all of my fabulous collectors who visited the Texas Masters show in Kerrville, Texas over the Memorial Day Weekend. It was a beautiful show with a diverse mix of fine artisans. I had a great time getting to visit with old friends and making new ones. The show went well and my newest etching, "Night Watcher", is off to a great start.
I'm taking some much needed R & R over the next 5 days. I will be traveling to Port Aransas where I plan to do a lot of bird watching and photographing those I can. Might try to do a kayak tour of the bay or I might just kick back and watch the waves roll in and sip on a cold one.
I'll keep you posted.

Bennington Small Works Show

Great news! The etching of the hummingbird's nest that I posted last time entitled, "Beginnings", was accepted into the Bennington Center for the Arts Small Works show set to open on May 31, 2008. The show will hang until November 30, 2008 and the etching is for sale. If you are near this area, please drop by and visit the show. Located in Bennington, Vermont at 44 Gypsy Lane. For further questions, please call (802) 442-7158.

It's a beautiful day in Boerne. We started off at 57 degrees but it is rapidly warming to the high 80's. The sun is shining and I'm working in air conditioned comfort preparing for a show next weekend. I'll have 3 new etchings to show. I'll post them here soon.

Gotta get back to the drawing table.

Nesting Hummers

I post a holder for dryer lint for the birds to use in their nests. Today, I saw a hummer picking out some fluff to use for her nest. My first sighting of the year. Now to try and follow her to see what else I can discover!
Isn't Spring wonderful! Here's one of my new etchings of a hummer nest.

Birds in Art 2008

Wonderful news today...... my watercolor, "Gleaning the Shallows", was accepted into Birds in Art 2008. Birds in Art is an international avian art competition that has been around for over 30 years. What an honor. I'm so jazzed. Here's the painting.
